What's happening
Instead of a long intake form, the SLR simply talks — the way they would to a friend or a legal advocate. Speaking is far easier than form-filling for people in crisis, people with low literacy, and people whose first language isn't English.
Simulated here
The microphone, waveform, and live transcript are all staged. Press the mic (or Next) and a pre-written story 'records' itself. No audio is captured.
In production
Speech-to-text (e.g. Whisper) streams a live transcript. The SLR can pause, re-record, or switch to typing at any time. Multilingual input would be transcribed and translated.
